Engagement is an exhilarating time of joy, anticipation, and dreams of a shared future. Amidst the excitement, it's essential to invest in the foundation of your relationship. At Remain Connected Counseling, we offer premarital counseling designed to strengthen your bond and prepare you for a fulfilling marriage.
Premarital counseling is a proactive step toward building a resilient and loving partnership. It provides a safe space to explore essential topics, align expectations, and develop skills to navigate married life together. Many couples find that these conversations deepen their connection and enhance their understanding of one another.
Our Approach to Premarital Counseling
At Remain Connected, we utilize the Prepare/Enrich model, a research-based assessment tool that has supported millions of couples worldwide. This approach helps identify your relationship's strengths and areas for growth, and helps keep open communication.

What to Expect in Our Premarital Counseling Sessions
Our premarital counseling typically consists of six sessions, scheduled weekly or bi-weekly to accommodate your engagement timeline. Here's an overview of the process:
Initial Assessment: Each partner completes the Prepare/Enrich online assessment independently. This questionnaire covers various aspects of your relationship, including communication styles, conflict resolution, financial management, and more.
Feedback Session: In the following meeting, your counselor reviews the assessment results with you, highlighting your relationship's strengths and potential growth areas. This session sets the stage for targeted discussions in subsequent meetings.
Skill-Building Sessions: The remaining sessions focus on developing practical skills and strategies tailored to your relationship dynamics. Topics may include:
Communication Techniques: Enhancing how you express thoughts and feelings to foster understanding.
Conflict Resolution: Learning effective methods to navigate disagreements constructively.
Financial Planning: Discussing budgeting, financial goals, and spending habits.
Family Dynamics: Exploring each partner's family background and its influence on your relationship.
Intimacy and Affection: Addressing expectations and fostering a healthy emotional and physical connection.
Our counselors are committed to creating a supportive environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings.
